ITEMS WE CAN’T ACCEPT

We do not accept Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). These materials require special handling and must not
be disposed of in our roll-off bins. Improper disposal will result in fines or additional charges. The examples
provided below are not comprehensive. For more information, please consult your City & County’s
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) regulations.

Chemical Cleaners & Solutions

Examples: Ammonia, oven cleaner, drain cleaner, glass cleaner, mildew remover, disinfectants, bleach, rug shampoo, floor cleaner, furniture polish, cleaning solvents of any type.

Hazardous & Regulated Waste

Examples: Solvent-labeled drums, industrial waste-carbon activated ash, lead-contaminated soil (over 5.0 ppm under TCLP test method), materials containing PCBs regulated under TSCA.

Appliances & Electronics

Examples: Motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, transmission fluid, engine degreasers, gasoline, car batteries, tires, carburetor cleaners.

Paints, Adhesives & Specialty Chemicals

Examples: Oil-based paints, lacquer, varnish, paint thinners, paint strippers, adhesives, epoxies, rubber cement, photographic chemicals.

Automotive Fluids & Parts

Examples: Refrigerators, air conditioners, TVs, monitors, items with Freon or lithium-ion batteries.

Personal Care & Pharmaceutical Waste

Examples: Nail polish remover, home perm, lice/flea shampoos, medicine.

Pesticides & Poisonous Substances

Examples: Insecticides, herbicides, mothballs, flea bombs & collars, insect repellents, rodent & roach killers, poison.
